The celebration also featured Estefanía Soto, Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2020, who was part of the Dodger Stadium festivities and the special presentation. Soto is a Puerto Rican model, actress and television personality, and her participation brought another connection between Puerto Rican culture, entertainment and baseball to the event.

The event was part of the larger Puerto Rico’s Day at the Ballpark series, which has been celebrating Puerto Rican baseball history and culture at MLB stadiums since 2023.

A Celebration of Puerto Rican Baseball

Puerto Rico has a long and powerful connection to Major League Baseball, with generations of players representing the Island at the highest level.

Puerto Rico’s Day at the Ballpark brings that history directly to MLB fans, recognizing Puerto Rican players and creating opportunities to celebrate the Island’s culture inside America’s ballparks.

The Los Angeles stop highlighted that connection by recognizing Hernández and Díaz while bringing Puerto Rican representation to Dodger Stadium.

And there’s still another way for fans to connect with Puerto Rico beyond the ballpark.

From the Ballpark to the Island

Puerto Rico’s Day at the Ballpark is about more than baseball. It’s an opportunity to celebrate the Puerto Rican players, culture and traditions that continue to make an impact far beyond the Island.

For Puerto Ricans in California, seeing that culture represented at Dodger Stadium is a pretty special moment.

And now, one lucky fan has the opportunity to take that celebration one step further, from the ballpark all the way to Puerto Rico.

Good luck, CALIRICANS!
