Los Angeles, Puerto Rico is coming to Dodger Stadium!
This Sunday, August 23, Puerto Rican baseball pride will take center stage in Los Angeles as Puerto Rico’s Day at the Ballpark comes to Dodger Stadium.
The Los Angeles Dodgers will host the Pittsburgh Pirates at 1:10 p.m., with a special celebration honoring Puerto Rico’s rich baseball history, culture, and the Puerto Rican players who continue to make their mark on Major League Baseball.
A Celebration of Puerto Rican Baseball
Puerto Rico’s connection to baseball runs deep. Generations of Puerto Rican players have represented the island at the highest level of the sport, creating a legacy that continues to inspire fans both on the island and throughout the Puerto Rican diaspora.
The August 23 celebration at Dodger Stadium is part of the Puerto Rico’s Day at the Ballpark 2026 series, which brings Puerto Rican culture and baseball traditions to Major League Baseball stadiums across the United States.
And for Puerto Ricans living in California, having the celebration come to Los Angeles makes this one especially meaningful.
Kiké Hernández and Edwin Díaz
Two Puerto Rican baseball stars will be part of the celebration at Dodger Stadium: Kiké Hernández and Edwin Díaz.
Kiké Hernández was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, while Edwin Díaz was born in Humacao, Puerto Rico. Both have represented Puerto Rico with pride throughout their baseball careers, making their recognition at Dodger Stadium a special moment for Boricua fans.
Hernández has become a beloved member of the Dodgers organization, while Díaz has established himself as one of baseball’s premier relief pitchers.
Their presence is another reminder of the incredible impact Puerto Rican players continue to have on Major League Baseball.
Estefanía Soto to Throw Out the First Pitch
The Los Angeles celebration will also feature a special Puerto Rican guest.
Estefanía Soto, Puerto Rican model, actress, television personality and former Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2020, is scheduled to throw out the ceremonial first pitch at Dodger Stadium.
The celebration will also include an on-field presentation and additional Puerto Rico-themed experiences for fans.
Soto’s participation is part of the Los Angeles stop of the Puerto Rico’s Day at the Ballpark series, making the celebration about more than just baseball. It is an opportunity to bring Puerto Rican culture directly to Dodger Stadium.
