From September 12–16, 2025, the long-awaited Roberto Clemente film will premiere at the Laemmle Monica Film Center in Santa Monica. For Puerto Ricans in California, this is more than just a movie release — it’s a moment of pride, remembrance, and celebration of a man whose impact reached far beyond the diamond.

Clemente wasn’t just a Hall of Fame ballplayer with over 3,000 career hits. He was a trailblazer who faced racism with grace, opened doors for Latin American players, and dedicated his life to humanitarian work. Tragically, his life was cut short at just 38 years old in a plane crash while delivering aid to earthquake victims in Nicaragua. His story is one of courage, resilience, and deep love for his people — and now, we’ll get to see it on the big screen.
